Here is a report from a meeting convened at Red Lion Square in Holborn regarding the freedom flotilla and the aftermath. The views here are not my own but feel they need to be heard for people to understand how people view the situation.

The goal must be to fully break the siege. There isn’t a full opening even with the partial blockade opening between Egypt.

Britain’s campaigning and protest movement has proven goals that may seem unachievable can be won if there is an application of pressure from people of good will outside and supporting the movement.

The struggle of the Egyptian people has caused the opening of the Rafa border. The efforts have to be redoubled in favour of the Palestinians right to live, fight for equality and freedom.

The world was stunned by what happened on the flotilla but it was in tune with how the military operate. Palestinian’s are not allowed to access the sea and there is a land block.

Of course it’s political – the mission of the flotilla is to about challenging apartheid, colonialism and racism of a country that is operating on impunity ensuring the top dog status in the region.

Israel does not represent Jewish tradition as we see it. There are many Israeli peace activists that stand in solidarity with the Palestinians. The occupiers should be called Israeli’s but the peace activists should be called Yahood.

Each massacre builds the solidarity movement with a moment in history and the horrific siege on Gaza. The Palestinians cause unites all who support progressive ideals. No effort was made to minimise the death toll on the flotilla. Israel has lost the battle of public opinion as they are showing their true face of apartheid and racism.

It is very clear and just case; Palestinians were removed for other people to move in. Nobody can argue about the Palestinian issue and the struggles make us stronger. It is a battle of will and we will see the liberation of Palestine in our lifetimes.

Students have marched and occupied their unions for Palestine. Each one of us is a movement among ourselves. The voice of the Palestinians needs to be heard.

Me as a Jew, I’m terribly embarrassed how this is being used in my name to invade and conquer the hearts and minds of many Jews, this has nothing to do with religion.
