Right the wrongs

Right the wrongs

If you want to right the wrongs, write about them!

There are so many things wrong with this world that one could spend a whole lifetime trying to do justice to all of the problems. Most people will open up with close friends about all of the bothersome aspects of living whilst others have found an alternative avenue to vent their frustrations. Like the title suggests, one is able to write about the numerous wrongs in the world, not to highlight the issue but to start a debate on how to rectify those problems.

Probably the biggest issue facing writers write now is how to generate enough revenue for the production of thoughts, ideas, words and sentences. One notably example of using the online space to create an income is the idea of crowdfunding where people use the internet to aggregate lots of small donations to fund their work. This will also allow the writer to know exactly the type of people who support their work and thus create a clear picture on whom to target more work towards, other people like them.

The old world of journalism is falling apart but this new world of online content creation is exciting, fluid and futile ground for developing new propositions. An email can be turned around and published then read by millions around the world, something that previous writers could only dream of. If the content is strong enough, an audience will be found.

Some may argue that the mainstream have the upper hand when it comes to creating content. We should remember that most national journalists are processes of news which is delivered by professional information providers such as PR firms, lobbys, and charities. It is no secret that most of that information can be found online by checking websites, so technically anybody is able to produce the same content.

This form of test tube journalism is arguably what is leading many people to switch off from the mainstream news providers, thereby creating a unique opportunity for online content creators to produce real news for real people and not manufactured produce.

Online content creation has the potential to provide a space for the social and new implications on how society speaks to itself, reflecting what other people are talking about. So let’s continue to create grassroots news from people actually involved in the story.

The future is bright if we generate an interest in news online and drives traffic to other sites!
