US control

US control

Here are some of the key points that came out of a lecture entitled: Crises and the unipolar movement with Noam Chomsky. He spoke at the Institute of Education in London in 2009 but his analysis explains the dominance of US control.

We are only here through the efforts of our forebears.

The collapse of the Soviet Union left the US as the sole super power in the world. The background in the US provides the right context to understand the world’s crisis.

After the Second World War, the world prepared for the US to hold unquestionable power both economic and military. The same perception still prevails today for example the US can use its military power unilaterially to protect financial interests.

Africa was handed to Europe for its exploitation until only recently America established the African command. Likewise the Southern command has been set up in Latin America which challenges the US economic order. Control of Middle Eastern oil would allow America to retain its control over the world.

Europe setting up its own independent path could be seen as another threat to US dominance. US like to impose economic charters to other countries to stop the rise of national economic policies in countries in South America for example.

The example of having a small democracy in a tiny country would provide an example for other countries to follow. This had to be stopped at any cost. To prevent contagious virus, they need to be destroyed and the region populated with controls around. This is how the US deals with countries that they try to break away from its control.

The US have continued to wage war on any country that is disobedient almost like the Mafia Godfather who makes examples of people to ensure others do not follow suit.

Whenever the virus emerges, the US has to respond. In 1979, the US tried to facilitate a coup in Iran to dispel the rise of democracy as the US does not want countries producing wealth which is then given to its own people. The money always has to flow back to the US.

Obama is escalating Bush’s war within Pakistan. $1.5 billion is being used to construct embassies out in the region. There is no change in the fundamentals of the US controlling energy resources to control the world.

Business leaders believe that profits should be placed above human interests. The general public are marginalised and open to manipulation. Rich countries do not see World Food Day or World Poverty Day as priorities.

The crisis in the west is mainly based around the financial services. The government’s policy of banks being too big to fail causes more problems than it is worth. They are being encouraged to set in scene for the next crisis. Those too small to matter are left to suffer. The nanny state is allowing investment banks to continue the recklessness.
